Income statements record period revenue and expenses, not every cash movement.
Ask the learner to restate the principle using their own example.
Balance sheets show assets, liabilities, and equity at one point in time.
Work one case together and narrate the decision at each step.
Cash flow statements track operating, investing, and financing flows.
Give the learner a new case; observe the process before offering a correction.
Reconcile a credit sale to receivables and later cash receipt.
Request an independent explanation and ask which assumptions might change the result.
Trace a $5,000 credit sale through all three statements.
Show the timing of revenue, receivable, and cash without double counting.
Accept a written, spoken, or accessible equivalent response when it demonstrates the same skill. Mark each criterion met, developing, or missing; never mark attendance alone as competency.
